Nan Ya Plastics showcases Nyudex TPEE elastic yarn at Taipei Textile Show
Nan Ya Plastics is showcasing its functional and sustainable fiber lineup at the 2026 Taipei Textile Show (TITAS), led by Wetfree® sweat-stain-resistant fiber, SoftMatte® high-matte fiber, and Nyudex® TPEE thermoplastic polyester elastic yarn. Nyudex® is already in full commercial production, uses a melt-spinning process without solvents, and is being co-developed with several international brands. Nan Ya will also present new cooling quick-dry fiber in Taiwan for the first time, developed with Kuraray Trading in long-fiber and short-fiber polyester applications.
Full commercial output of solvent-free, single-polymer polyester elastomer yarn offers apparel brands a recyclable alternative to conventional Spandex, potentially shifting elastic-fiber demand toward polyester.

Market context
Polyester elastomers such as TPEE (thermoplastic polyester elastomer) are melt-processed block copolymers that combine the stretch and recovery of rubber-like materials with the processability of thermoplastics. In textiles they are spun into elastic yarns for form-fitting garments, where conventional elastic fiber has long been dominated by polyurethane-based Spandex, a fiber that is chemically difficult to recycle with other polymers. Demand drivers for elastic and functional fibers include sportswear, yoga and leisure apparel, uniforms, and outdoor clothing, where brands prioritize stretch, comfort and moisture management. Melt-spinning avoids the solvents used in many Spandex routes, which can simplify solvent recovery and reduce processing complexity. For buyers and investors, a commercially available single-polymer elastic alternative could gradually shift portions of elastic-fiber sourcing toward polyester, with implications for Spandex producers and for the market for recyclable textile inputs.
