Global Green Chemicals to study used cooking oil collection with CP AXTRA
Global Green Chemicals (GGC) and CP AXTRA signed a memorandum of understanding to study the feasibility of collecting used cooking oil (UCO) from CP AXTRA's stores, group companies and network. The collected oil would be upgraded and evaluated as feedstock for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), bio-based plastics and bio-based chemicals. CP AXTRA expects to collect about 50,000 liters per year.
A secured used cooking oil feedstock stream could give GGC an alternative bio-based raw material for SAF, bioplastics and biochemicals, reducing reliance on virgin inputs.

Market context
Used cooking oil is a lipid-rich waste stream that can be processed into renewable feedstock for several bio-based products. After treatment and upgrading, it can be converted into hydroprocessed esters and fatty acids used as blending components in sustainable aviation fuel, or into monomers and intermediates for bio-based plastics and other biochemicals. Demand for these products is driven mainly by airlines and fuel blenders working toward emissions targets, by packaging and consumer goods makers seeking lower-carbon materials, and by specialty chemical producers. Because waste cooking oil is collected locally and is also sought by biodiesel producers, a dependable collection network can help a producer secure supply, reduce exposure to virgin vegetable oil and fossil-based inputs, and manage price volatility. Buyers and investors typically watch collection volumes, feedstock quality, and the pace at which pilot evaluations move toward commercial contracts, since these factors determine whether a waste-based feedstock can compete with conventional sources.
