Clariant unveils Genapol Pure Power rinse surfactant for premium automatic dishwashing detergents

Clariant is unveiling Genapol Pure Power, a multifunctional rinse surfactant for premium automatic dishwashing detergents, at the SEPAWA Congress 2026 in Berlin from 14-16 October 2026. Clariant testing found it reduces dishwasher filter weight by up to 70% compared with an established benchmark surfactant, while maintaining shine and drying performance in short and eco cycles. The product will be available from October 2026.

Key facts

Market context

Rinse surfactants are a small but functional part of automatic dishwashing detergents. Their main job is to control foam and water sheeting, so that glasses and dishes dry without spots or streaks. Demand comes mainly from household and institutional dishwashing, with premium formulations and shorter, lower-temperature eco cycles driving interest in ingredients that perform reliably under those conditions. Surfactant suppliers compete on performance, formulation fit and how well a product works with other detergent components, so a rinse aid that improves filter behaviour or cuts residue can be a differentiator for detergent formulators. Launches like this are typically judged on test data and on how quickly brand owners adopt them, since reformulation takes time. Buyers in home care and household chemicals should watch whether such performance claims hold up in commercial formulations.
