Wacker Chemie unveils silicone additives and bio-based aminolipids at SEPAWA
WACKER Chemie is presenting silicone additives for household and personal-care formulations at SEPAWA Congress in Berlin, October 14 to 16, 2026, at Booth B308-309. Products on show include water-based silicone emulsions, amino-functional silicone fluids, alkyl-modified silicone waxes and silicone resins for textile waterproofing, leather, glass and car polishes. The company is also launching ferment-derived aminolipids BELNEXT GAL 1860 and BELNEXT EMO FH2, the latter a 100 percent bio-based emollient, with a presentation on October 15 at 11:00 a.m.
Launch of biodegradable, bio-based aminolipid conditioners as alternatives to conventional quaternary agents could shift formulator demand in hair care and emollient supply toward fermentation-derived ingredients.

Market context
Silicone emulsions, fluids, waxes and resins are widely used to make surfaces water-repellent, improve slip and feel, and add gloss. Textile finishing, leather treatment, glass cleaning, and car polishes depend on these materials, as do household care and personal-care formulations such as hair conditioners and skin emollients. Demand in these segments tends to follow consumer spending on cleaning and grooming products and the activity of formulators who need performance additives. Aminolipids made by fermentation are a different category: they are biologically derived surfactant-type ingredients that formulators look at as possible substitutes for conventional quaternary conditioning agents, which are petrochemical in origin. Interest in bio-based and biodegradable inputs can pull procurement toward fermentation supply chains, while established silicone producers face competition from both new bio-based actives and distributors that sell broad ingredient portfolios.
